ST. LOUIS -- With terrible upwind anticipated to move into the St. Louis area on Tuesday evening, the Cardinals proactively deferred their ordering start against the Royals and rescheduled it as part of a divided doubleheader on Wednesday.

The two clubs will inactive play Wednesday’s on a regular basis scheduled 12:15 p.m. CT game at Busch Stadium. That will be followed by a 6:45 p.m. contest to wrap up the first of two ordering between the I-70 rivals. Fans with tickets to Tuesday’s game can use them for Wednesday’s nightcap.

Michael Wacha, who was slated to start on Tuesday, will start the first game against Brad Keller. Adam Wainwright will face Homer Bailey in Game 2.

With Tuesday’s game wiped from the schedule, the Cardinals were afforded consecutive days off. They’ll have another on Thursday, as well.
